Case Study: St Brides Primary School Website

Overview

St Brides Primary School based in Bridgend in a Church of Wales primary school with more than 100 pupils. The school caters for children from 4 years of age to 12 and has a range of stakeholders including pupils, governers, parents and teachers.

Requirements

The key requirement for this project was a website that would be appealling for all target audiences as well as child friendly. All of the teachers wanted the ability to update their own particular section on the website and use it as an additional teaching resource that pupils could access from home.

As well as allowing teachers to add notes to the system it was important that the website included the latest news stories and events for parents. It was also decided that a poll and forum facility would be useful to encourage a two way dialogue.

Solution

With these requirements in mind, the following solutions were implemented:

• Website Design - a portal based website that would appeal to all key target audiences and make it easy to locate the required information
• Gemview Professional Content Management System (CMS), including the news module, lists, polls and forum modules.
